ABOUT THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SUSTAINABILITY FORUM
The Los Angeles Regional Collaborative for Climate Action and Sustainability is designed to facilitate coordination and cooperation between government leaders, the business community, academia, labor and community groups in an effort to address the global concerns of climate change and sustainability through local solutions.
The two-day Southern California Sustainability Forum served as a platform from which these varying segments can build collaborative partnerships and develop innovative strategies in line with LARC’s mission. Attracting a diverse audience of academic researchers, business experts, technology developers and environmental consultants, the Forum brought together professionals focused on developing the solutions requisite to stave off the worst impacts of climate change as well as the adaptation strategies necessary to mitigate the inevitable impacts. The Forum also appealed to regulatory agencies involved in creating the policies and legislation that will further the development and deployment of sustainable technologies throughout the Los Angeles region. The convergence of these public and private groups will lead to the formation of powerful alliances in support of the Regional Climate Action Plan.
The Los Angeles Regional Collaborative for Climate Action and Sustainability is a network designed to encourage greater coordination and cooperation among all of the regional players acting to respond to climate change and implement sustainability strategies.
LARC is the most powerful regional alliance focused on addressing the global concerns of climate change and sustainability through local solutions. The UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability serves as a nonpartisan mediator and facilitator for cooperation.
